Fuzzie Space Ferret Rescue is owned and operated by Cathy Akers we are located at James Store, Virginia. We currenlty house 15 ferrets, 10 of which are currently up for adoption. Our love for ferrets began about 3 years ago when we acquired our first two ferrets from a family member who could no longer care for them, and since then we have acquired many more from other who can no longer care for them as well as other reasons for a ferret rescue.

Once we acquire a surrendered or rescued ferret it is then kept quarantined from the other ferrets in the shelter for a period of 2-3 weeks, this is also the ferrets acclimation period giving it time to get better adjusted and settled into it's new environment. All of our rescue ferrets receive just as much love and attention as the rest of the ferrets we have while they are in quarantine. While our mission is to rescue (take in) ferrets who need a temporary home and adopt them to new loving homes, we must also keep the best interest of the ferret as the main priority, therefore not all applicants can be approved for adopting a rescue ferret or paired rescue ferrets. We ask that you be absolutley sure adopting a ferret would be right for you and your family (especially children) but we will always reserve the right to deny an adoption if we feel it will not be suitable for either the applicant or the ferret. Your understanding this is greatly appreciated. We wish we could allow everyone to own a ferret but this is not always possible.
